First, the parking: it's ONLY valet. the entire lot is that way. on the other hand, the parking staff was courteous and there is not a fixed fee. Tip appropriately . Don't snack before coming here. There is so much food, and it's all good. Skip the: - rice that comes first - mashed potatoes that comes out beforehand - the rolls / popovers are delicious , but tiny. eat only one & save room for the MEAT. The meat comes, and keeps coming. if there is anything you want from their stock, ask for it. it comes out rare to well done. This is the perfect place for a large group.
If you come here, come hungry! The experience starts with the salad bar. I had a small hitch when they were out of shrimp salad. I asked about it and was told a few minutes longer. I went back to my seat and there was a plate of it. How they found me, I don't know ow. This place is huge, bigger than most restaurants. The meats were very tender and seasoned well. The variety is impressive. I thought the parking was a challenge at first. There is NO self park. Accordingly, simply come prepared to valet. It was efficient and you pay what you want. This is the perfect place for a celebration. They allowed us to bring our own cake. Five star for certain in food and service!
This place was a meat lovers / foodie lover's dream palace. This was my first all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse experience. This place has set the bar very high for future buffets, all you can eat, and Brazilian steakhouses to come. Upon arriving we were told the wait was going to be 15-20 minutes when real wait time was 35-40 minutes. The ambiance was outstanding, the atmosphere was elegant and inviting. I like that there were a lot of space in between tables/parties that made the dining experience seem more intimate. There were lots of people with reservations coming in and even those parties were told to wait 10+ minutes to get seated. The salad bar was self service with a plethora of items to choose from. There were a variety of fresh greens and impressive items. There were deli meats, cheeses, fruits, and other appetizers. The servers were all very attentive and polite. My visit for a dining experience at Chama Gaucha was expectional. The food was delicious and the the service was excellent.
All I can say is be ready to eat ! The service was amazing. The staff is very attentive, and you will never have to wonder where your server is. Initially looking at the pictures I didn't think this restaurant would be an option for me because I don't eat beef or pork. Went here for a birthday party and was going to only grab a drink, but to my surprise they had jumbo shrimp and also on the salad bar. The food is really good and there are so many options to choose from. You should most definitely go on an empty stomach because the servers are at your table every seconds ready to serve different selections.
This is one of my favorite places to dine.. Their servers are well trained to make sure all your needs are met. The salad bar is okay...the meat options are great. They offer variety in meats, flavors, and doneness. Will definitely be coming back.
I cannot say enough about the service here. We came on a Sunday afternoon because someone came to my husband's job with coupons. We hadn't heard of the restaurant before and decided to try it out. I was a little concerned because I don't eat land animals but the salad bar is AMAZING! According to my husband the meat was great quality, seasoned well and my husband left very full. The wait staff is constantly rotating, refilling drinks, offering clean plates and cocktails from the various carts. Rosa was the waitress that seated us and she was so sweet and the entire team was so attentive. If you want to eat great food, have a beautiful atmosphere and feel like a million bucks, come eat here.
Still the best Brazilian steakhouse in town. It's now $60 for lunch and $65 for dinner and an experience worth the splurge. The only disappointment is that the grilled cinnamon pineapple isn't included in the buffet and is now an a la carte menu. Drinks except iced tea are also a la carte, which at the price point we pay I feel like they should just include all non-alcoholic drinks. All the meats come out with that nice char, giving it a crunchy bite mixed with the fat melting in your mouth. Delish!! Beware that the lamb is pretty gamey. I always put generous amounts of the chimichurri sauce to balance the taste. Salad bar is top notch and surprisingly, the lobster bisque is also quite good with a strong lobster taste and bits of lobster. The service is excellent and the space accommodates large groups pretty well, so it's a nice place I'd recommend for celebrations. Reservations aren't needed for lunch but definitely need for dinner.
**waaaaay overdue review:** It's been a couple of years since I last visited due to the distance from my place. While I have had the opportunity to eat at other Brazilian steakhouses, Houstonians, #YouKnow...I figured Chama Gaucha would be the same ol' same ol'. In concept, it indeed is. An all you can eat galore with your red light/green light #NoSquidGame protein play (more like little thick cards they give you). The "Brazilian cowboys" staff are QUITE attentive, and you're never left sitting there with ample time to regret your decision for more meat. Lol Conversely, in ambiance, it definitely differs. Eeeeeeverything about it whispers luxury, from the entrance to the pristine bathrooms to the luminous interior and the impeccably dressed and diligent staff. Chama Guacha features an impressive bar with a variety of fresh vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, and delicious salads. It provides a variety of refreshing and interesting choices to accompany meat-centric meals alongside delectable soups like cream of broccoli or lobster bisque. Despite the temptation, the wisest advice is to eat lightly from this section. The #MainCharacterEnergy OF COURSE is the meat. The offerings leave you with nothing to be desired--filet mignon, flank, ribs, lamb, sirloin, chicken, and sooooo much more. No one is excluded from the preparation of the meat because they have your various cooks! This IS my 5th wedding anniversary, wedding proposal, Christmas, and 40th birthday month annnnnd it is just an ideal location for a special occasion or a romantic date night that costs approximately $50 per person. Just reminiscing about this long-overdue review is making me yearn for another visit before the year comes to a close!
What's better than meat? Endless meat, that's what. I've had the opportunity to visit 5 local AYCE Brazilian Steakhouses. Chama Gaúcha wins hands down. Why? Let's talk about it. Their location is pretty central to the city, a definite advantage. I'm not a fan of the valet only in front. There are sections that are self-park in the back, between other valet areas. Otherwise pretty clutch location. Service - It's fast! You have to be smart about the salad bar, and quick with the meat strategy. The second you go green on your card, they rush you. They took us without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon at open. Minimal wait time, and they let us park my Grandfather's walker behind the front desk. At 98, that dude still throws down at a buffet and happy hour. The staff were all very attentive, and it's nice that they each cover all the tables, not just their own. The MEATS - They have two kinds of lamb that comes through, compared to other restaurants that usually have one lamb item. The Garlic Steak, the Parmesan Chicken are both fantastic. The family also really likes the shrimp. Literally every cut of meat is great, but those for sure have a striking flavor that you can't get enough of until you've had far too much and regret your life decisions to that point. Pro tip: I love rare, but I also love crispy melty fats, and some carbon on the edges. Get the medium rare slices so you can have the best of both worlds. And if possible, get the outer edge so you get the peppery salty rub, and the rare juices. Devine. DRANKS - My last visit was the first time I've done drinks here. I had a cheesecake Martini at the behest of our wait staff. It was vodka, but it was absolutely delicious. Sweeter than I normally would go for, but smooth. My Ma went with the Whiskey Sour. It was her first in years, and ahe loved it. Gramps was adamant about a margarita, and went with the Mango. He finished his first, and started gettin' handsy with everyone else's drinks. Highly recommend them if you have a thirst. Dessert - They have a solid assortment, but the last time I ever ordered one was years ago, and I can't quite recall the details. They (family) were happy with the chocolate cake. I stuck to a cappuccino to help with the damage I did at the buffet. Overall, a great experience time after time. Family loves it too. If you haven't been, you should check it out.
